What we collect

When you create an account, we store your email address. During onboarding, we store your ZIP code and electric utility provider.

When you upload a bill, we extract and store structured bill data: billing period, account number, total usage (kWh), total cost, and the per-kWh cost breakdown (variable base, fuel charges, adjustments, and sales tax).

What we don't collect

  • Your PDF file — bills are processed locally in your browser and the file never reaches our servers
  • Your full name or mailing address
  • Payment information of any kind
  • Any data unrelated to your electric bill

How your data is used

Your bill data is used to:

  • Power your personal dashboard so you can review your own bill history
  • Calculate anonymous ZIP-code-level averages shown on the zip stats page
  • Contribute to platform-wide aggregate statistics — these are never tied back to you individually

We do not sell, share, or otherwise disclose your data to third parties.

How data is stored

All data is stored in Supabase, a cloud database platform hosted on AWS. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Aggregate statistics are computed server-side without exposing any individual user's data.

Your rights

You can request deletion of your account and all associated bill data at any time by emailing us. We will process deletion requests promptly.
