Why we built this
Between base charges, fuel adjustments, and a maze of line items, most Indiana residents have no idea what their actual electric rate is — let alone how it compares to their neighbors.
IndianaRates was built to change that. By letting Indiana residents upload their electric bills, we automatically extract the key cost data and build a transparent, crowd-sourced picture of what electricity actually costs across the state.
The goal is simple: more transparency into electric utility rates, and a true picture of the average cost of electric for Indiana residents.
How it works
Upload your bill
Upload a PDF of your Indiana electric bill. Your PDF is processed locally in your browser — we never store the file itself.
We extract the data
Our AI reads your bill and extracts the cost breakdown: variable base, fuel charges, adjustments, and sales tax — all broken down to a per-kWh rate.
Compare your rates
See your rates stacked against your ZIP code average and the statewide platform average. Know exactly where you stand.
Who it's for
Any Indiana resident who wants to understand their electric bill. Currently we support CenterPoint Energy and Duke Energy bills, with more providers coming as the community grows.
